Laminate has a harder, more scratch-resistant wood-look surface and usually costs less per square foot. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is fully waterproof and quieter underfoot. We bring samples of both so you can compare them in your own light, and we install both.

Every laminate installation is backed by a 1-year workmanship warranty. If a plank lifts, a joint opens or a transition fails because of the installation, we come back and fix it at no charge. The laminate itself is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which stays valid because we follow the required underlayment, expansion gap and subfloor specifications.

Some laminate products are water-resistant, while others are rated waterproof. Suitability depends on the specific laminate product and its installation requirements. Laminate can often float over flat, well-attached hardwood, tile or sheet vinyl. Carpet always comes out. We check flatness and moisture at the estimate and tell you what needs to happen first.

Order enough material for the measured floor area plus an allowance for cuts, layout, and spare boards. For example, a 500-square-foot area with a 10% allowance requires 550 square feet before rounding up to full boxes. This is a calculation example; the appropriate allowance depends on the project.
