Laminate is a floating floor, so the subfloor must be flat, dry and clean. We check plywood and concrete subfloors for flatness, grind high spots, fill low spots with leveling compound where needed, and test concrete for moisture before laying a vapor barrier. Subfloor repairs beyond minor leveling are priced separately and agreed before we start.
We remove the existing carpet, pad, vinyl or old laminate, pull staples and tack strip, and haul everything away. Existing hardwood or tile can sometimes stay in place under the new laminate; we tell you at the estimate.

Many current laminates are water-resistant and some are rated waterproof for kitchens and bathrooms. We bring both types as samples and recommend the right one for each room.
Most homes take one to two days, including removal of the old floor and subfloor prep.
Laminate has a harder, more scratch-resistant wood-look surface and usually costs less; LVP is fully waterproof and quieter underfoot. We bring samples of both so you can compare them in your home.
